The castle served as the residence of the Grand Dukes of Baden until the end of the monarchy in 1918. After World War II, it was briefly used as a French military hospital. Today, the Neues Schloss is owned by a private investor and houses luxury apartments and a restaurant. While the interior is largely inaccessible to the public, the exterior and the surrounding gardens offer a glimpse into the opulence of a bygone era. Transportation
The Neues Schloss is easily accessible by bus. Take bus lines 201, 205, or 216 to the 'Neues Schloss' bus stop. From there, it's a short walk uphill to the castle grounds.
